Cutting-Edge High Current Delivery
and Vital Grounding Solution
The Sovereign represents our flagship power and grounding solution, developed over two years to exacting standards of excellence.
Connecting all equipment with a common signal ground creates a zero-point reference point for analog and digital equipment, including speakers with driver baskets and chassis grounds. This zero point is needed so that the transitions from positive to negative have the same zero reference point across your system.
The installation of the Sovereign and associated grounding cables creates an immediately discernible improvement in 3D spatial placement, velocity, dynamics, and clarity as your system breathes easier from amplifying significantly less noise.
Our approach at EnKlein starts by identifying gaps in existing technology that relate to the necessary functions of the product requirements. We then integrate established technologies with our innovative technical development methods to create a superior solution. Achieving a perfect balance between functionality and customer expectations is paramount, often requiring multiple iterations of technology integration.
Once we align functions with user expectations, we design the chassis layout and optimize user ergonomics. For the Sovereign, we required a high-mass, non-conductive chassis in a compact form factor. To achieve this, we collaborated with our long time friend Rumen Artarski, the owner of Thrax Audio Ltd., who granted us access to Stanislav (Stan) Stoyanov, an exceptional mechanical engineer with an impressive background of accomplishments. The result is a highly efficient chassis that houses our proprietary oak and copper baseboard, supporting all 14 parallel filter networks and three marine and aerospace-grade rhodium-plated copper bus bars designated for line, neutral, and ground.
The finished unit weighs under 12 kg and features a front panel with six Furutech binding posts for a common chassis and/or system ground, and a power LED adjustable to three brightness levels: bright, dim, or off. Staying true to our minimalist design philosophy, the front panel is devoid of logos to ensure the Sovereign seamlessly integrates into any environment without creating visual distractions.
The unit features a distinctive binding post located at the rear, which integrates a proprietary directional in-line filter circuit designed for the cascading of EnKlein grounding devices, such as the Ground Zero or SHT Power. This capability is crucial for safeguarding the Sovereign against ground loops that may originate from the room wiring or faults in the equipment. Furthermore, the insertion of ION grounding cables into the ground binding posts provides a pathway of least resistance for equipment grounding. However, to achieve optimal performance and the lowest overall system noise floor, the use of the XerXes directional ground is recommended.
Internally, the high-current power and grounding conductors are meticulously isolated utilizing nonintrusive filtering methods that incorporate our high permeability broadband metglass amorphous chokes, which operate in conjunction with our SHT master-grade noise inhibition circuits. The chassis is organized into two distinct sections, each housing nested Faraday cages. This innovative design significantly reduces the noise transmitted through connected power cables, resulting in a noticeable improvement in the operational efficiency of the equipment's power supplies.
